PRP Therapy

Available in Windsor and Chiswick

PRP therapy is an excellent treatment that uses a small amount of your own blood to stimulate the production of collagen and new skin cells. PRP therapy is predominantly used on the face, particularly around the eyes, mouth and nose although it may be used on the backs of the hands and all over the body, more commonly the décolletage to give a more youthful and radiant appearance.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are gaining popularity for a variety of conditions, from sports injuries to hair loss. The treatment uses a patient’s own blood cells to accelerate healing in a specific area. A PRP injection is a low-risk procedure and does not usually cause major side effects.

PRP can be used as a cosmetic treatment for the following:

  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
  • Tightening and toning skin
  • Mild collagen and volume loss
  • Crow’s feet and dark under eye circles
  • Acne scarring
  • Rosacea
  • Stimulates new cell growth
  • Improves skin tone and texture
  • Improves skin complexion
  • Helps with first signs of ageing
  • Improves skin complexion

HAIR RESTORATION

PRP therapy is an alternative to traditional hair transplant surgery for men suffering from male pattern baldness and hair loss. PRP therapy is a new and promising approach that encourages more men to take the leap into hair loss prevention.

Anyone experiencing hair loss is a great candidate for PRP treatments, but the earlier you catch your hair loss, the better your response will be. For men, the first signs of hair loss may include thinning at the back of the head, while for women, this might look like a widening part with normal hair thickness at the back of the head.

The PRP treatment process for hair restoration is relatively quick with minimal downtime, and the end result isn’t only visible – it’s natural, too. There are no pharmaceutical products used and there’s no traditionally “surgical” procedure.

Hair Restoration Treatment at Bare Brilliance Aesthetics

During your PRP treatment for hair loss, your blood will be collected and then treated in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. Then, the plasma will be injected into your scalp in a grid pattern. While you may experience slight redness and swelling, and you won’t be able to wash your hair or scalp for 24 hours following treatment, other side effects should be fairly minimal.

FAQ’S

What Is PRP Treatment?

PRP is known as a “natural filler” treatment designed to give your skin a youthful appearance with minimal downtime. Because PRP is derived from your own blood plasma, there are virtually no risks of allergies, sensitivity, or adverse reactions.

A PRP facial treatment – sometimes called a “vampire facial” – improves overall skin texture, decreases fine lines and wrinkles, and plumps up hollowing areas of the face. If you have acne scarring or surgical scarring, PRP treatment can help lessen those as well.

PRP facial rejuvenation treatments take about an hour to complete. Depending on which area of the face is receiving the injection, we may apply a topical numbing cream to your skin about an hour before your treatment to minimize discomfort – but more often than not, the process is quick, painless, and fast-acting!

How Does PRP Treatment Work?

During the PRP treatment process, a small quantity of the patient’s own blood is collected and then treated in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from your red blood cells. The plasma is then injected in a grid pattern into the target area. The treatment usually takes around one hour, and because the platelets are taken from your own body, there are virtually no averse reactions or side effects!
